I generally love how the Stolpman wines age (I've not had any beyond 10 years old) This one was aromatically expressive, and well integrated but for what seemed some dominant oak flavors. 92ish

Soft, round layered flavors of berries, chocolate and spice. Drinkable right away but great reward for patience. Really kicked in about 1 hour after opening. Decant if you just can't wait. The wine looks Garnet colored. The legs are Medium. It smells like Blueberry, Gooseberry, Black Pepper, and Clove. It tastes like Blackberry, Blueberry, Gooseberry, Medicinal, Oak, Black Pepper, Clove, and Chocolate. The body is Full. The wine has Round texture. The wine finishes Long.

Drinking well. Dark red, almost purple color. Nose of pepper and dark fruit. Very prominent tannins but smooth mouthfeel and long finish. Great fruit and liveliness, well balanced. Tasted along with '03 and '04.

Very nice, balanced, not overly oaked (believe it or not after 30 months in new french oak)! Great raisiny dark fruit palate with notes of cedar. Well balanced and not tannic. Popped, poured and consumed over 3 hours.

Very rich and delicious blackberry fruit with chocolate, spice flavors, terrific texture, wine was less restrained than previously tasted bottles, superbly balanced, long finish

Full-bodied but tight, restrained blackberry/black raspberry fruit, nose much more forward than the taste, very smooth and superbly structured, shorter finish

This wine is no where near ready. Everything is there, but the tannins are still too prominent for pure enjoyment. Dark and inky with blackberry, blackcurrant, mocha and notes of oak, verging on sweet spice. Intense and deep with a long finish. Would hold for at least another 2 years.

Remarkable Syrah with amazing depth, color and richness. Upfront flavors of plum, blackberry and dark fruits blend together into a finish that seems to last forever. Very recently bottled so this will likely only get better.

Good dark fruit and savory notes but overwhelmed by heat on end.

Lovely bouquet of dark fruits and savory notes of leather and tobacco leaves but heat on backend overwhelmed the experience.

Great wine. Lots of dark fruit. Plum, blackberry, leather, smoke. Nice depth. Great backbone. Solid, delicious bottle. Wish I had more.

Big and bright flavors with a very long finish. Chocolate prevalent in the flavor profile.
