(at Ramon Freixa - Madrid) Pale gold. Hazelnuts, minerals, under ripe banana skins, ocean salt, yellow fruit. Broadens with air. The is a resemblance to Grand Cru Chablis. Maybe a bit more of a fruit core. It the weight, feel and depth of flavor while dancing on the palate is remarkable. I need to explore and learn more about this. (95)

This deserves more of a “proper” tasting note, but sometimes you just want people to know that a wine is sophisticated without being difficult, tasty without being simple.
This is just about the perfect age to drink this vintage. I love it and hope you will too

First time trying this grape variety Godello and this wine. Pretty impressive nose with elegant floral and fruits nose. It is a strong Spanish white that I expected which is good.

Quite brilliant this As Sortes from Rafael Palacios. 100% Godello from 40 years old vines at 680 meters altitude. PnP and directly very aromatic. Full bodied. Aroma’s keep developing during the evening, starting a bit reductive, very flinty (which I really like), peppery. After an hour or so a bit more stone and exotic fruit is getting through (white peach, unripe mango). On the palate very nice salinity, minerality, apple and pear. Ultra long finish.
What an amazing wine, sheer enjoyment!

Needs a good decanting, good balanced and length with a lot of notes being chardonnay like, quite intense acidity. This needs 5+ more years in the bottle

This wonderful cuvée has some stone fruit, a little vanilla and a whiff of herbs. The palate was a little bit subdued at first, probably as it was straight from the fridge and too cold. But after a few minutes in the glass it had a fullness, that was balanced with a tangy saline acidity, that blended with a rich almost tropical fruit edge. It was dry, but fooled you with a slight sweet and acidic tingle . A delicious wine and at £42 not an everyday drinker but available at @harrogatewines and certainly worth seeking out to #giveanewwineago .91 points

With every tasting this proofs to be a fantastic wine. Filled with all kinds of tea impressions from green, to black and the wet leaves of oolong, gently wrapped in green apples, a hint of mango and a brilliant refining mineraliy, this is a great pleasure in the mouth and the nose. The wood, it spent around 7 month in barrels of 500 L, is perfectly integrated if perceptible at all. Perfectly approachable but with many years of life in it.

Tycker i motsats till de flesta professionella kritiker att 2017 är ännu vassare än denna. Men helt klart en underbar Godello, och fortfarande något slags ultimat pairing till Chèvre Chaud. Glad att jag har flera flaskor i källaren.

This was sort of heavy and fruit cocktail ish upon opening, loose, lacking tension and lightness. I left a glass in the fridge overnight (covered) and it completely transformed overnight. Fresh, light, bright with acid and a lovely saline, oceanic turn. Reminiscent of white Burgundy but also distinctly Gallego. What a difference a day makes. Alas, I tried to repeat the experience with more of the leftovers without success; it was still sort of heavy and fruit cocktail like. Puzzling considering how much I enjoyed this last year in Pontevedra. If I had more bottles, I'd give them a good slumber before popping another.

Nose slightly shy, but seems to open with air. Chalky, bruised apple, sweet brown spice, caramelized butter. Aromas are both more advanced (Oxidized) and reserved (reductive).
Following the “Louro” bottling the pallet is richer with a bit more tension. Creamy lemon curd, stone fruit and graphite on the MP. Richness is elongated but spicy phenolics and firm acidity.
Perhaps a more complex version of the younger bottling, but not necessarily more charming at this stage of its life.
We will see as the bottle opens!

Consistently very good. We had an evening with white wines, excluding Riesling, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, to get away from the usual. Very gracefull wine with clarity, purity and a good drinking flow. Very elegant fruit, almost shy pears with a hint of butter. I sensed no fat, even though it spent time in new oka barrels(500 L). Young but already beautifull and with 2 to 4 years I think it will grow, develop more depth and intensity.

What a wine and such qpr. Rafael Palacios has to be the best white wine producer in Spain. Believe I preferred this vintage over 2014 (both just a whisker behind 2015). This wine is full of life, excellent acidity, lime, minerality. Has great mouthfeel, not a hint of alcohol heat. One of my favorite white wines regardless of country or region. I recommend you seek this wine out. Btw, deserves a slightly higher score but is still so young and packing so much that will revisit in a year or two to assses if the potential is unfolding.

Wirklich gut. Herrlich!
Made from the parcels: Os Caneiros, A Coalleira, Souto dos Santos, Alexos, Val de Anta, O Castiñeiro. 14% alcohol. Wow - maybe the best 100% godello I've had, with a nose somewhat similar to a classic Meursault that hasn't been beaten down with battonage or oak. The palate starts out bright and vibrant with excellent freshness, but gently adds richness with air. Very sophisticated, really an achievement and one for the white Burgundy fans. At Bagos.

Lemon rind, citrus and floral nose. Lovely mouthfeel, glossy, coats the mouth. Very precise with great intensity. Notes of honey and stone fruit on the palette. This is seriously good for the money.

Incredible nose of white peach flesh, acacia blossom and lime peel. Rich and honeyed on the palate, but with knife-edge precision on the acidity and great structure and length. Half way between Condrieu and Puligny Montrachet.
An exceptional wine - lovely balance of fruit, minerality, acidity. Soft oak on the nose and palate, a full and balanced wine with notes of honey, ripe citrus, flowers. Structure to age beautifully.

(At BBR Spain Tasting) :: A wine of incredible precision. A nose of honeysuckle, lime leaf, white flowers, slate and iodine - crisp and balanced. The palate is fresh, saline and ripe. Old vines grown at elevation, getting the Atlantic winds and plenty of sunshine. The result is wonderful complexity and balance of fruit, minerality and acidity.

Fantastic. Over the hours it has wavered from musty petrol and nectarine to melon and lime zest. Rich but lithe, juicy bitterness at finish.

Had to try it after the rave reviews. Finally located some bottles overseas and brought a couple back...
My immediate thought: I found Burgundy in Spain.
Nice salinity to it so coats the mouth well. Lemon, Apple notes balanced with minerals and a hint of smoke. Very smooth.
This is really good on its own terms and when you consider the quality, in Klopp’s words “I would have paid double!”
