Without question this is an elevated wine not subject to a Bourgogne Rouge appellation. And it is not an elegant Cote de Nuits Village. The deep deep dark red/balck color immediately suggested Vosne ideas, but on the palate,it seems like a rustic Gevrey.Then it hit me: it tastes a bit like a Languedoc blend mixed with Gevrey sous bois and some Vosne elegance on top. Tons of feral scents, barnyard funk and some pettilance. almost a challenge. I liked it, but do expect a hearty wine. Drink now or wait for more expressive sinews-if the melange outlasts the forest.
