Sunday, June 10, 2012 - A sunday afternoon at Tooch's (Matt's place, Chicago IL): nose: a good dose of black pepper strikes right off the bat along with flowing tones of spices, black fruits, dark red fruits and some dark red cherries. Very good depth, though it did seem to be holding back a slight bit right now.

taste: full bodied with very good and chewy tannins. The tannins certainly show off the youth along with medium+ acidity. There is really good balance to this with tones of dark red cherries, black fruits, black pepper and spice tones.

overall: A beautiful young St. Joseph. My first Gonon, and I'm very impressed. I would love to see where this wine goes over the years.
