Intense nose of cherry drops, redcurrant, blueberry, earth, a little woodsmoke and menthol. Quite fleet of foot, with tonnes of acidity and a reasonable amount of tannin, though perfectly enjoyable without food. Platonic ideal of langhe nebbiolo for me: lots of character, intensity, and true to the grape but also super easy to enjoy young. |

This one had a lot of that structure but softened in a good way over a 2 hour decant. Lighter fruited like most Barolo's of this age. Even though very different than the last bottle, I liked this equally. Red capsule, original release. |
