5/27/2024 - mks83 Likes this wine: 89 pointsI was expecting a baby Brunello, and this was clearly not, in a charming/determined way. Dark garnet color with some clarity. The nose is very mild, consisting of cassis liquor, cooked cherry, and burnt tire. In the mouth, richer than the nose, the fruit draws gentle convex curve - staring off round/gentle, intensifies gradually, and fades away towards rather short finish. The tannins are medium with powdery texture, but comes with delay as if wrapped in a wafer paper. Medium (-) acidity is totally hiding in the background. As a red, this is a simple wine that lacks substance. However, if I consider this as dark-dark rose with additional tannins (the wine has focused purity that could pass as rose), this is such a voluptuous one. Inexplicably good. 89-90. |

The wine is a bit tight, as one might expect from a youthful Chianti Classico, but it is quite promising. Lots of dark fruit, with lot interesting tertiary no roast meat, Tara, and Mami Leiden notes. Weine has an excellent QPR, and has lots of upside. |
