Flight 1 (12 Notes)

  • 2021 Julian Haart Piesporter Grafenberg Riesling Kabinett 93 Points

    Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer

Next to the Herrgott, this felt a bit riper with lemon and white flower notes on the nose. Good acidity and a bit higher sweetness with mineral notes and more lemon/citrus on the palate. Great finish. I feel like this isn't showing everything yet - the palate is lovely but the nose was a bit more reserved. Probably just needs time. 93++

  • 2021 Julian Haart Wintricher Großer Herrgott Riesling Kabinett 94 Points

    Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer

Nice intensity on the nose with floral components, lemon, and minerals. Great acidity with lots of fruit on the palate, lemon, riper yellow fruit, and excellent balance. Long finish. This was a bit more enjoyable and had better balance than the Grafenberg at this stage, but both are great wines that need some age. 94+

  • 2021 Julian Haart Piesporter Goldtröpfchen Riesling Kabinett 92 Points

    Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer

Nice nose with notes of minerals and lemon, but next to the "alte Reben" everything was tuned down and bit more muted. Great acidity with lemon, dried flowers, sweet yellow fruit, and minerals on the palate. Good finish. A nice wine that would probably be better on its own, next to the white label it paled in comparison and had no chance. 92++

  • 2021 Julian Haart Piesporter Goldtröpfchen Riesling Alte Reben Kabinett 97 Points

    Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer

Amazing and intense nose with lots of depth and primary notes of lemon, dried flowers, and citrus zest. Great acidity and so much power on the palate with quite a bit of dry extract and similar flavors. Very long finish. Outstanding wine, so complex and deep, yet still very young. It's a huge step up from the red label and really, really promising. 96-98

  • 2021 Julian Haart Wintricher Ohligsberg Riesling Alte Reben Kabinett 97 Points

    Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer

Wow! Crazy good on the nose that leans slightly more tropical with a distinct peach note in addition to lemon and dried flowers. Complex and rich on the palate with a saline note and more lemon/peach flavors. Very long finish. A fantastic experience and quite different from the Goldtröpfchen. This may be the better wine in the long run, but hard to tell right now. 97-98+

  • 2021 Julian Haart Wintricher Ohligsberg Riesling Kabinett "1925 wurzelecht" 97 Points

    Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer

Beautiful and complex wine on the nose with spices, citrus, peach, and mineral notes. Great acidity with tart fruit, lemon, and lime on the palate. Very long. Out of all the wines, this was the most elegant, balanced, and deep. It has lots of intensity and nothing sticks out, it's simply gorgeous, but also a bit less distinctive than the "regular" Ohligsberg white label. Can't wait to see how this will evolve. 97-98+

  • 2020 Julian Haart Piesporter Goldtröpfchen Riesling Alte Reben Kabinett 97 Points

    Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer

Very outgoing nose with lots of power, mineral notes, lemon, florals, and nuance, although also a slight sulfur note. Nice acidity with lots of fruit on the palate, more peach, dried flowers, lime zest, and a nice textured mouthfeel. Long finish. This was amazing and was drinking super well right now.

  • 2019 Julian Haart Piesporter Goldtröpfchen Riesling Alte Reben Kabinett 97 Points

    Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer

Lovely nose with deep floral notes, nectarine, and orange. Nice acidity with similar notes, a bit more lemon/citrus, and generous fruit. Long finish. Excellent wine, probably the most powerful of the wines, but with slightly less intensity and depth compared to the 21.

  • 2020 Julian Haart Wintricher Ohligsberg Riesling Alte Reben Kabinett 96 Points

    Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer

Bright nose with nice complexity and notes of tangerine, lemon, and minerals. Lovely acidity with peach and lemon notes, crushed rocks, and sweet fruit. Long finish. Excellent wine that has so much going on. It's a bit richer and sweeter than most other white labels in this tasting, but still preserves balance. Should age beautifully. 96++

  • 2019 Julian Haart Wintricher Ohligsberg Riesling Alte Reben Kabinett 97 Points

    Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer

Beautiful and quite textured nose with lemon and peach skin notes. Great acidity with a lot of weight on the palate, yet by no means overbearing. Flavors of peach, grapefruit, citrus, spices, and flowers follow. Very long finish. Another outstanding wine, the most textured of the set and another that will probably only improve with time. 97+

  • 2017 Julian Haart Wintricher Ohligsberg Riesling Alte Reben Kabinett 98 Points

    Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer

Wow, this was crazy beautiful! Intense nose with lemon, dried flowers, peach, and a slight cheese note. This shows the full spectrum of fruit. Great acidity with complex and deep flavors of citrus zest, grapefruit, green apple, and peach. Long finish. Mind blowing wine, showing a glimpse of what the 19s-20s could become with age, yet still has a long way to go. Today, this was my favorite, but I suspect/hope that the 21s and 19s will overtake this in the future. 98+

  • 2019 Julian Haart Piesporter Goldtröpfchen Riesling Spätlese * Alte Reben 95 Points

    Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer

Lovely nose with spices, citrus zest, honey, peach, white pepper, and minerals. Nice acidity and not at all too sweet on the palate with more peach, lemon, and honey notes. Long finish. A promising wine that should age beautifully. 95++
