Acidity is still significant so a longer life is very possible. $35 for a 24-year old wine of this quality is amazing. Quite savory with mostly tertiary elements present. Not a ton of fruit remaining, but enough. Only 12.5% alcohol, so quite light-bodied. Old-school wine. THIS IS NOT A WINE FOR THE BIG-FRUIT CROWD OR NEOPHYTES.
In a word - excellent. Great accompaniment to grilled pork tenderloin with grilled polenta. (238 views) | | | Tasted by Deux Chevaux on 2/15/2022: Dark ruby, with only slight bricking at the edges. Earthy, with suggestions of tobacco and just a (pleasant) touch of green/ bell pepper. Integrated and quite smooth, but with sufficient acidity to keep it lively.
