Slightly reticent nose opens up to reveal an explosive flavour profile: violet, blackberry, plum, tar, earth, tobacco, vanilla, baking spice, nutmeg, anise. Good balance and lengthy finish; tannins fully integrated. Could age further but in a lovely place right now. Drink and enjoy.

A bit of sulphurous at first, which thankfully blew off after 30 min. What emerged was a well constructed wine with flavours of lemon, lanolin, honey, coconut, wax, almond and marzipan. Solid acidity and decent finish. The wine’s power started to wane near the end of the bottle. Drink or hold.

Two hour slow-ox before dinner. Bright cranberry/choke cherry fruit profile with notes of white pepper, plum and violet. Acid-forward and tart, nicely complimenting roasted beef and root veg. Alone the wine was slightly thin and the acid outpaced the fruit. Abrupt finish. Has not improved since last bottle. Drink freely and preferably with food.
