Did an alternating Cabernet vertical flight of 2007 Charles Krug Yountville, 2008 Louis Martini Sonoma, 2009 Charles Krug Yountville & 2010 Louis Martini. Rated best to worst in order was 2007, 2009, 2010, 2008. I don’t believe any of these wines were intended to aged this long but they were in the back of my cellar and gave them a go. Surprisingly the 2007 Krug was borderline excellent and stole the show. The 2009 Krug was nice but not as good as the 2007 with less complexity and starting to fall apart. Both of the Martini’s were still alive but starting to fall off and showing hints of dull. I suppose the moral of the story here is drink these young, as intended, especially the Martini’s

Deep purple with a black cherry and anise aroma. The cherry comes out very strong on the palette. Dry with medium body and acidity, and a juicy texture. Tannins long on the tongue after the wine is allowed to breathe. Delightful wine that has aged beautifully!

No copious notes but was a very enjoyable wine for the QPR. Could probably last a couple more years under controlled storage but might as well start thinking about drinking up while its still drinking good.

Amazingly smooth and easy to drink. nice flavors of loganberry, raspberry. Very light but nice flavors. Wonderful on a hot night. I wish I had 2 cases of this for summer. Especially for $12.99. Much better than it was when we bought it 6 years ago.
