This is a truly good wine - smooth, easy drinking, not ponderous, but worthy of appreciation. A wide ruby-red rim with a plum core. Baking spices (cinnamon) and dark fruits of cherry and plum on the attack with rhubarb and black pepper at the mid-palate and finish where a touch of mocha (cocoa and coffee) joins in. So good we pulled a second bottle. 100% Zin.. Some slight sediment. 14.9% alc. With homemade pizza (mushroom and pepperoni - yes, the same wine with the same pizza two years apart and completely serendipitiously). Recommended.

Splash decanted and drank over next 3 hrs. Medium opaque, black-raspberry color. Medium-minus body. Mild plum and dark fruit, with serious cherry/cranberry and lesser strawberry overtones. Long finish. (Confession: Notes from 3rd hr, and it was evolving.)

Still spicy, though the body is fading, like a fifty-something. Flavorful aroma and a treat for the tongue, no amber at the edge, retains its regal purple. We'll see whats left on night two. But still wonderful at eight years. Remember tasting East Bench from the barrel. Thanks Paul.

Very flat. Tasted and then dumped the bottle.

No real notes but noticed plum, spice and coffee as we noshed on Shack (beef) burgers upon our arrival from Italy.
