A single note wine of greenish raspberry. Not any more notable features. I used it for cooking and whilst I suspect the d'Arenberg clan would wish it otherwise, it was moderately well suited to that task.

A fruit bomb pinot, with noticeable alcohol. That said, an enjoyable wine to drink alongside tonight's dinner of beetroot soup with horseradish dumplings.

I really don't like this wine. The wine is very full bodied and quite jammy. I also feel that the alcohol is quite strong. For Pinot Noir, what I'm looking for is a combination of elegant with intense, powerful and concentrated flavours. Looking at D'Arenberg website afterward, I noticed that early Mar 2008 is very hot with continuous daily temperature over 35 degree Celcius. For a grape variety that require cool climate, it is no wonder that this Pinot tasted so full and jammy.

Patina: Earthy, spicy, touch pepper, low concentration, a bit light, simple.
