14,2% alcohol, 2,1 g/l residual sugar, 6 g/l acidity, pH 3,37. Aged for 12 months in older French oak barriques. Bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Deep and dark yet quite translucent pomegranate color that turns to raspberry pink towards the rim. The nose is very sweet-toned but also enjoyably complex with lots of spicy Pinosity and rich aromas of ripe cherries, some candied raspberries, a little bit of earthy spices, a hint of savory wood and a touch of sweet, perfumed floral character. The wine is medium-to-moderately full-bodied, super-juicy and lively on the palate with vibrant flavors of rich cherry-driven red fruits, spicy Pinosity, some sour cherry bitterness, a little bit of raspberry marmalade, a hint of ripe strawberry and a touch of savory wood character. The tannins feel very light and gentle, so the structure relies on the high acidity. The finish is quite long, slightly grippy and quite spicy with complex flavors of peppery Pinosity, earthiness, tart cranberries, some floral violet tones, a little bit of juicy black cherries and a hint of sour cherry bitterness.
A rather sweet-toned yet very sophisticated and enjoyably complex Pinot Noir that marries effortlessly that ripe, fruit-forward nature of new world Pinot Noirs to a more serious, savory and structured Burgundian expression. A fine and thoroughly delicious wine that is very easy to approach and drinks remarkably well, yet is nuanced and complex enough to be sipped and savored over longer time. Shows potential for future development. Lovely stuff.
