This is a delicious 100% zin. Lots of sediment. Has aged quite well. Ripe smooth purple fruit, very long finish. Probably was a bargain 17 years ago...

An odd vintage for this wine. It really comes off as if they really tried to push it a little bit in a more modern sense. Initially when popped it smelled like a dense Central Coast Syrah though the palate was more reserved. Fifteen minutes of air allowed those Zinberry qualities emerge yet this is still a lot darker in character than a lot of Zins. The fruit is still fresh for its age. The density really lingers and becomes more noticeable as there is less acidity than it really needs to be balanced. Consistent over two nights. Half a glass left to night four shows a lot of new wood. The fruit isn't oxidized as much as faded. Mixed bag here. Not really what I want from Jimsomare though this wine is intriguely dense and young.

Purchased at the Sonoma winery in 2009. At some point I forgot about it in a dark corner of the cellar, and was a bit nervous about opening a 15-year old zin. But it was pretty good! Still some lively fruit, very smooth, zin spices, and no over-the-hill type flavors. Drink up.

Drinking well. Relatively fresh exciting and complex fruit. Full-bodied but light. Medium red and blue fruit, lots of berry. Nice finish.
