With Meredith and Valerie on a snowy night in New Hope, Valerie made some turkey chili. Splash decant, drank over an hour.
Garnet/purple color, cloudy, thinning at the edge. Plum, red berries, vanilla on the nose. Tart blackberry, cassis, pepper, tobacco, leather. Fruit forward, still fresh and expressive. Tannins resolved. Medium body and finish.
In a great spot now. Best guess is this will drink at this level for a while but not likely to improve. Nice showing, would drink in next 3-5 years.

Fruit forward. Yet elegant and balanced. A great expression of Walla Walla Cabernet Sauvignon. Good acidity, semi-integrated tannins, lots of cherries and black currants, some forest floor notes and a hint of leather. Long ending with some black pepper and a hint of vanilla. So good, hedonistic, and modern in style. Did not disappoint. Drink now - but this will definitely develop further in the next 3-4 years.

21 Grams Vertical: 2005-2016. (Home, Portland OR): 21 Grams Vertical: 2005-2016. Another crumbled cork which required straining. One of the top bottles of the night, this was a stellar wine. Still quite fresh and delicious all the way through the bottle. Flavors of cassis, black cherry, saddle leather and violets. Hints of oak and vanilla as well. This is definitely at peak but may hold here for a bit. Outstanding wine!

Even better a year later. Had to decant as the cork broke but this is simply outstanding.
