  This was a really wonderful bottle, a classy old-school effort that eclipsed many recently. In comparison with many modern Bordeaux efforts that garner high points, this was more red fruit with higher acidity yet this is precisely what gave it its charm. Fantastic finish that was very long.

  This was drunk alongside the 2007 Opus one and was better off the glass at the start. However, the wine becomes a bit thin after 3-4 hours while the Opus held up and concentrated. Points to Opus.

  Kleur: Diep donkerrood met een dunne rand. Aroma / bouquet: Complex bouquet, aangenaam geparfumeerd… Donker fruit, gedroogd fruit, cederhout, een hint van vanille. Smaak / Afdronk: Onberispelijk vanaf het eerste moment. Zachte zuurgraad, mooi gerijpte tannines. Prachtig gerijpte tannines met een aangename bite. Aromatisch spannend, tonen van gedroogde pruimen, champignons / aards / gronderig. Prachtige vulling en concentratie in een ultieme balans. Algemeen / potentieel: Buitengewoon aangename Mouton Rothschild. In dit stadium ongelofelijk aangenaam drinkbaar, maar nog zeker met een lange toekomst voor zich! 50 + Kleur: 5 + Aroma / bouquet: 12 + Smaak / Afdronk: 17 + Algemeen / potentieel: 9 = 93/100

  Match 2023 chez Etienne: Superbe matière et une très grande finesse. Encore de petites marques de bois qui devraient disparaître avec quelques années de plus. A la hauteur des attentes!

  Decanted 2 hours. Engaging, intense nose with real depth - fresh garrigue, lavender, brambles - background of hoisin and salinity. Delightful. Palate is ripe, round; certainly has a firm grip on first tasting with clear but integrated tannins - lots of fresh acidity. Palate showing blackcurrant, soy sauce - has a real linearity to it - very clean, clear. Super long persistence. Whilst lacking some depth and character on the palate initially, this certainly develops in the glass bringing in further savouriness. Excellent though does need some time to develop additional complexity. Drink 2026-40.
