This is a big wine. Inky dark and heavily extracted. On the first day opened, the smooth, but abundant tannins overwhelmed the palate. On the second day, the rest of the flavor characteristics resumed their rightful places. More than any wine I have ever tasted, this one tastes like chocolate covered cherries. Beside that, there is some heavy duty, very ripe almost roasted plum and blackberry fruit. The almost heavy mouth feel reminds me of an Argentinian Malbec (in a good way) There are tannins that almost don't quit. No shortage of oak here. 14.8% alcohol, and just enough acidity. I would love to have some bottles to put away for 10-15 years. I can just imagine the development of those secondary and tertiary flavors like mocha, caramel, and cola which would be amazing. Nice job. Distinct.
