Opened a 1.5L at a dinner party. Awkward at the first taste, sorted itself out well within a half hour. Thinner now than its on-the-run status. Slight fruit, zero tannin, good finish. Though clearly on the downslope, quite enjoyable and still well balanced. After an hour and a half, Elvis left the building.

Plenty of life left in this. Drinking window at least 2 more years. Lacks finesse but never had it to begin with. Considering its release price and age I am impressed with this wine.

Disappointing color and texture, but the nose was incredible. Very rich floral notes with hints of spices and blackberries. Finish was a little too sweet, but lasted well. Consumed with 1999 Charles Krug Merlot and this was the worse of the two
