Drank over 2 nights. structured, but I thought there would be more fruit (nose/palate). I think I waited too long! Between an 89 & 90. If you have any I'd suggest drinking soon.

Probably the best ps I have had thus far. Really a beautiful and now fully mature Greg Brown-made ps - a very good QPR wine at this price and maturation point. This probably has at least another 2-3 years of good life left but right now is fully mature and in a great drinking window and I see no further upside or anticipated improvement with continued cellaring and recommend starting to drink up any remaining holdings. Very good, deep inky teeth staining purple, good mouth feel, long lingering pleasant aftertaste and full bodied but with time has softened and become much more balanced and complex - very well integrated with a surprising amount of elegance, complexity and fragrance. This wine has really benefitted from time - much better now and a totally different wine then in it's youth. This needs to be filtered and decanted - still very heavily sedimented. Big aromatic almost floral nose of dark cherry, brambles, black pepper and a hint of smoke with primary earthy flavors of well controlled oak, leather, dark stone fruit and the previously also noted licorice, mocha and tobacco. Definitely recommend this wine but as noted above I recommend drinking up any remaining holdings in the next 1-2 years - I do not see any further upside or expected improvement with continued cellaring.
This is easily one of the best and most complex Petite Sirah's I've had in a while. Complex nose of blueberry, blackberry, a lot spice (with noticeable mint), surprising chocolate, and a little alcohol. I should have decanted this wine. The tannins are very pronounced with delicious black fruit and a spicy finish. This one can go for a while.

Quite a while since we had one of these beauties and I am very impressed with the progress. This wine has aged and matured beautifully and is currently in a beautiful drinking window - although this has years of cellar life left I am not sure that there will be further significant improvement, I think it is very reasonable to start drinking up supplies. This wine remains a very good and full bodied petit sirah, stylistically a very typical Greg Brown wine but has softened over the last 18 months and is well integrated and balanced at this point with a surprising amount of elegance, complexity and fragrance for what at it's essence is a very big bold dark wine. Big mouth feel, full bodied, long after taste. This wine needs to be filtered and decanted, very heavily sedimented, and needs 1-2 hours of air to really hit it's stride. Similar nose to previous experiences with dark fruit, cherry, brambles and tar with well balanced primary flavors of earth, dark stone fruit, licorice, mocha and tobacco. Overall very good for lovers of big petit sirah, good QPR at this price point and definitely recommend this wine.

Similar notes as before - extra decanting helps considerably.
