Found this in the back of the cellar. Butterscotch, caramel and baked apple were enjoyable for 5 minutes, then downhill quickly from there. My fault for holding this so long.

Shockingly good for a wine supposedly 8 years over the hill. Classic buttery, caramelly texture, definitely on the over-the-hill side, but still drinkable. Of course, perfectly cellared from purchase direct from winery.

Way over the hill. Sherry-like oxidized aromas and flavors. Dark sediment in the bottle. I would say it was a flawed bottle but I think that's just the way these brutish Martinelli's age (or don't). So glad I stopped buying these some time ago.

A very nice chardonnay that has held on decently in to its 5th year. Interestingly, the charm is less about the fruit and more about some of its savoury elements. Scored short of outstanding as I found the mid palate compressed. I'm sure this would have been better last year when the fruit would have been the star attraction.
Very enjoyable and a great match to roast chicken.
