Served as the second chardonnay accompanying appetizers with a dinner with some friends. The first, a 2013 Lolita Ranch from Martinelli was well-liked by the group of which half are generally not chardonnay fans. The 2010 Zio Tony was even a bigger hit. Hard to put into notes, as nothing stood out, except that the wine was incredibly smooth and had a long finish. I poured using a Coravin as the bottle had a bit of sediment (as it is bottled unfiltered).

Bright yellow color, butter is most prominent on the first sip, fruit has faded, but still has pleasant notes of yellow apple. Buttery notes integrate better into the mix after 10 to 15 minutes. On the lower end of the acidity scale.

Just a wonderful chardonnay and I regret I was my last one. We consumed 6 bottles over 4 years and everyone was just an incredible experience. If you are into California chardonnay this is an great example. Wet stone burnt sugar on the nose some mineral and an underlying exotic fruityness on the palate with a very mouth watering long finish.

Yellow color with a bouquet and flavor dominated by oak with a somewhat astringent ending. Fruit mostly gone but with lemon and apple in evidence. Balance falling off with limited nuance. Best to open a bottle now.

Last bottle. It has declined considerably from earlier bottles, which were extremely good. Suggest those of you out there with inventory of this one give a bottle a try to see if your bottles have headed in a similar direction.
