1975 - 1976 Guess The Red (Rich & Peggy's House, Los Altos, CA): Youthful color, no sign of bricking. Big sweet cherry perfume, pretty. Light bodied with lovely cherry fruit, a silky texture and great balance. This was in a perfect place for my palate, some fruit remaining and no hard edges. (my 1st, group's 3rd)

Ridge Ruby Cabernet Monte Bello Blindtasting 1972-1984 (Palo Alto, California): Group's #4 (my #7) – 46 pts; 3, 0, 2, 0 – Dark red violet color with pale meniscus; intriguing medium- to high-toned berry and maple sugar nose that changes, after 40 minutes in the glass, to a distinct porcini and leather nose; faded fruit but still some tart plum, cassis and very firm tannins, but gets very tired after 40 minutes in the glass; short-medium finish
