This has aged nicely. Color is still straw yellow and quite light for being over a decade old. Tropical nose, with some coconut, pineapple and kiwi. Heavy on the palate with plebty of butter and medium acidity. The oak is prominent but not extremely distracting. The finish is sweet, oaky and of mid-length. A typical California chardonnay, this wine is big, opulent, well endowed. Not necessarily my kind of Chard but it is well made.

Lewis style is heavy Chardonnay and unpologetically new world. Since it has a bit of age all the corners are smooth and the wine felt a bit viscous, not too much. Not shy on the nose department either. The antithesis of Chablis.

The smell of this wine was uncorked was very fruity and very pleasing. I found this wine slightly more dry than I had expected but overall was delightful.

A delicious cross between coconut and peppermint that tastes like neither.
