Even with 14 years it is a big wine. Plenty fruit. Prominent oak that has evolved into a 'metallic'-like flavor that dominates which caused me to lower my score.

This is a surprisingly delicious wine. Large in scale, yet exceptionally balanced: rich fruit, coupled with a smokey and toasted-oak bouquet and flavor right through the finish. Very Burgundian in style (but richer in fruit). This is a hard Chardonnay to stop sipping.
Still very young and vibrant; light yellow in color. No doubt 8 years have contributed to its harmonious integration of multiple layers.

It looks like butterscotch candy disks and smells like an apricot and pear pastry - the fruit was soft and pleasant and I noticed notes of almond and vanilla both. Lemon rind lingers on the palate. Enjoyable.

On this, my third and final try with this wine, I was very pleasantly surprised. While my first two bottles struck me as fine, but rather pedestrian and dull, this one had a nice lift to it to carry a well-made, rich, typically Cali Chard. Quite enjoyable.

classic Calif Chardonnay - oak, butter, popcorn flavors. Aged better than I expected. Lewis is consistently good for this style of wine.
