Last bottle, was inspired to pull another Aaron Pott wine from the cellar after a great showing from an 08 Kahlihamonk. Paired with my pot roast and roast potatoes...PnP, drank over 2 hours.
Dark purple, opaque, slightly cloudy, mild bricking, some sediment. Nose of dark fruits, mocha, caramel, fig, floral/violets. Intense and rich palate showing blackberry liqueur, cassis, black currant. Plum black currant and liqueur notes through the mid palate and finish. Tannins smoothed, texture is notable. Medium/full body, long finish (60 seconds).
Sadly, my last bottle. Really incredible showing on the evening - especially for what was not considered a big Napa vintage. In a great spot, based on this bottle it should drink well for the foreseeable future, but this is a great time to open this. May have to find some more on the auction market...:)

Haven't visited any of my Blackbird wines in a bit...I am a big fan of Aaron Pott wines...wanted to check in on this one. 06 vintage was as sleeper (in my opinion) for Napa. My 06s have aged nicely and drinking beautifully as they hit the 10 year mark...
Dark purple color, no real signs of age. Nose of dark fruits, cassis, burnt caramel, tobacco. Rich palate of blackberry "liqueur", black currant, plum, black licorice. Medium weight, tannins are smooth and integrated. Wine became increasingly expressive and rich over a 3 hour drinking period.
Even with the age, still has a palate coating Napa characteristic with a right bank flavor profile. In a great spot, seems it should have another 7-10 years to continue to evolve. Great stuff, as expected...still has upside. Would give this a decant if possible

Made no notes at the time, as was also celebrating new grandchild with this, but this was drinking quite well, showing some nice bottle development. Certainly can hold. ~94pts

In its stride. Nose of light berries. Licorice, coffee, and light oak. Delicious.

Wow, wine of the night, firm tannins lots of fruit left, didn't take detailed notes, but everyone's favorite. Beautiful wine wish I had more.
