Took to El Dorado kitchen in Sonoma. Went very well with mushroom tart and beef tenderloin. Still some tannins on the initial attack; mellowing with decanting and air in the glass. Fruit more muted than I recall on release. Fully mature. Perhaps not in danger of falling aprt but I doubt it will improve further.

CLONYC Small Production Gems (Zoe): A solid, well-made wine, but not a revelation. A great nose of cassis and leather. Supple mouthfeel with dark fruit and ripe, sweet tannins. I think this is on the downswing with the acid outlasting the fruit on the medium long finish. While I preferred the '97, this certainly does the Sherwin name proud.

Great wine, but it fades fast once opened. If you have any of this wine, drink it now!
