A nice bottle of pinot. Darker in color with a nose filled with dark fruit and smoke. On the palate, much lighter in flavor than the nose would lead you to believe with a strong undercurrent of white pepper spice (almost too much spice). However it complemented the porchetta wonderfully.

Dark cherry and smoky nose. Palate is juicy, cherry and pomegranate. Bit of heat, though, it sticks out on the back side. Needs to shed some for me. Altogether, not a bad buy for under $25. I'd drink again.

A very nice pinot, our first but based on this bottle definitely not our last JV Stoller pinot from Willamette Valley. Enjoyed a couple of glasses earlier today for lunch with Kim at Devi's in NYC, matched up with spicy Indian food very well. Poured straight out of the bottle, medium purplish with somewhat thin mouth feel, well balanced but clearly still quite toung. Bright pleasant nose with red cherry, white pepper and cola. Primary flavors included some cedar, red cherry, raspberry, mint and development of some black pepper and smoke with further aeration in glass. Definitely recommend this and with this structure I do expect further improvement with cellaring over next 2-3 years.
