  • Split decision! Heavier in texture than the Grenache. Intense, great dark fruit.

  • Popped this at the last bottle of the night while my brother Kurt was visiting while driving his daughter's belongings across the country. This was lovely, and what you'd expect from an SQN. It is a bit young, and would benefit from some of the tannins blowing off. The underlying fruit is perfectly ripe, with a great flavor profile and finish. I really enjoyed this. My brother and I drank it in less than 30 minutes after a delish dinner of slow-cooked short ribs, filet mignon, baked potatoes with all the trimmings, and a delicious green salad. Winter is the cooking and drinking great red wine season. Last night was sublime. Cheers!!

  • One of the most compelling Syrahs that I have ever encountered. The fruit is poised, strong and vibrant, with depth and poignancy. On its own, over the years of aging in barrel. Absolutely epic. Smoked meats, hickory, white pepper, plums, blueberries, oolong tea and roobios. Terra cotta and layers of oak. Onto itself this astonishing single vineyard Syrah from Sta Rita Hills is another stunner. There’s silky, fine tannins with a backend that grabs you, with a delicate entry. Truly unique and of its own ilk. High octane, yet supple and pure. This Syrah is black as night, and remains vibrant. Absolutely indispensable, and individualized. Decanted for three hours. Drink 2026 -.

  • Decanted for five plus hours. Very primal at this star. The palate dominated by ripe dark ruby and scorched earth. Anise, mint, and game are in the back ground. As always tons of potential to become great after five plus years.
