Dbl decant 5 hrs ahead. Incredible mouthfeel, deep layers emerging, very young but still well balanced, seems like it will get much better but already the talk of the evening

After ten odd years hanging on through rejection letters I finally received the fabled offer letter on this vintage, so figured it was time to crack one to see what the fuss was about. It lives up to the hype, no question. Opened at 8am to give it a lot of air, took a taste and was surprised how accessible it drank, and it only got better. Red fruited and flowers against cracked pepper and a velvety mocha note. Rich and supple, mouth coating but also in a way weightless, the wine has an incredible presence and balance. Wow.

Supple, smooth textured syrah that is very approachable now. There is a abundant ripe dark fruit with no hint of over-ripeness. No regrets about opening this one now.

Blueberry, olallieberry, smoked meats, mocha, sweet oak, freesia and dried lilacs. Full body and exceptional layers, with velvety tannins and a very polished middle. This sails on for days, with a wide finish. Drinking well and showing even better on day two; of course this is one to cellar. It beckons it. Yet, with fruit this stunning and pure it is very enjoyable at any point to open and submerge. Redolent. Drink 2026 -.

Rich and opulent without weightiness.
The body is full. The wine has satin-like texture. The wine finishes long.
