Quite a lot of Chianti (Must & Lees, Warren Street): A Gaiole bruiser in comparison to some more delicate Radda wines, this was quite powerful and totally delicious. Some reductive cordite notes carrying a full, meaty nose with real depth to the dark cherry and blackberry fruit and violet. Great presence and persistence on the palate.

Cherry and menthol on the nose; cherry, red berries, and notes of earthy spices on the medium finish, with light tannins and good acidity. This was a good value at under $30.

VC Wednesday night group (Ypsilanti, MI): Something not exactly right on the nose, resembling peanut maybe? The palate shows soft tannin, ripe cherry fruit, and medium acidity. Like all the other wines I have had from this producer (other CCs and the San Marcellino), I am struck by the lack of Chianti character—especially given the use of indigenous grape varieties.

Solid wine, wrong pairing... Grabbed this while steak from the grill was resting after discovering we had a flawed bottle of another wine. A perfectly fine Chianti - just not a great pairing with a ribeye steak. Now post dinner enjoying with crackers. Definitely young and with enough balance and substance for further positive evolution. Very pleasurable now (ran back and forth through aerating decanter).

This bottle had an odd somewhat iodine quality that detracted from drinking pleasure. Unlike previous bottkes much enjoyed
