We typically love the DDO Rose’ year after year but this one was not quite at the level of prior. I found it to show a bit of alcohol where prior years have been a bit more elegant and no detectable heat. Otherwise, enjoy!

Winery visit. Aromas of melon, strawberry and hints of lime, along with ginger spice and crushed stone. Fresh and succulent on the palate, with fragrant red fruit flavors and citrus zest along with rose petals and a touch of spice. Richly textured and bright. Nicely done.

Great bouquet, medium body, light red color, good fruit, balanced, drank easily with blackened swordfish, enjoyable but never soared, a fav from year to year but some California roses have a bit more acid and spunk, might drink again.

Shared with friends at a rooftop charcuterie potluck. Perfect for a posh sunny picnic.
