My wife insisted on selecting the Sunday night wine herself and came out with this. Yackman nails the descriptors here - jammy blue and black fruits, heavy oak treatment. The sweetness settled down after an hour, and some mocha and tobacco emerged on the finish. Classically styled Napa cab, good juice for the money. I just hope I can hide my final bottle for a few years
Annual Caroling & Chili Party (R&D's): Deep inky color. Notes of cassis, plum, vanilla and barrel spice. Full-bodied, with flavors of blue and black fruit, vanilla and toast. Big, but balanced, with plenty of fruit for the tannin and oak treatment. Plenty of upside here. (R&D)

This is a nice example of the Lewis style and a good representation of a Napa Valley cab in general. Gobs of deep, dark black and blue fruits, noticeable oak. More full bodied than many of its peers at this price point. My only criticism, at this early point in time, is that it is a bit one dimensional, but looking at the reviews of older vintages, it sounds as if this should evolve nicely with time
If you were assembling a case of Napa cabs under a hundred bucks per bottle, two of these would work quite well for most people

Drink well above it's pay grade, the best showing, so far for this vintage. See previous notes but well worth the money. 94 convincing points.

Lots of Lewis style oak, enough tannin, ripe blue fruit. Full bodied, heavy mouth feel. Needs a steak for optimum enjoyment.
