Deep, dark reddish-purple garnet in color with no signs of aging. Nose was initially reticent but eventually developed into a full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of dark cherries, blackberries & cassis with overtones of floral & earthy/dusty notes, cocoa, coffee, herbal notes of mint, tobacco, leather, minerals, some spice notes & a hint of vanilla/oak in the background. Medium-full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of dark cherries, blackberries & plums with herbs, minerals, cocoa, spices & a hint of vanilla/oak in the background. Lingering smooth finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & extended airing but at 18 years old, it is approaching its peak of development although should hold onto its current peak for a few more years. Fill was mid-neck; cork was clean & intact.

I really like the density and purity of the blueberry, cassis, India inky nose, but on the nose and palate the alcohol really comes through. I find it distracting and the warmth isn't really pleasant, which is a shame because the rest is so lovely. I guessed ~14.5% ABV and it is labeled at 14.8%

Still a bit wild and raw, but time has tamed some of the rougher tendencies of this site. Blackberry, cassis and inkiness to the nose. The palate wraps layers of dark fruit, raspberry, licorice and grilled herb notes in a lithe medium bodied feel.
Another great wine from this site.

We decanted this for an hour before we poured. Wonderful nose with essence of fresh berries, mint, chocolate, toast and licorice. Nice acidity and tannin balance with layers of black currant, dried figs, chocolate, cherries, coffee and toast. Wonderful wine would have liked a longer finish and mouthfeel.

Still lots of fruit on the nose. Subtle flavors on the pallet.
