Started out quite closed but opened up nicely over 2 days. Floral and earthy nose. It's earthy with mushrooms, dark fruits, sour cherries, cedar, a little bit of spice and some lovely tannins. It's quite complex and drinking it is a fun ride of ever-changing impressions. Great length and great acidity. I can only assume this will improve for years to come.

A little greenish, tomato notes with mushroom flavor, but in high tone and pumped up compared to old world. Interesting wine. First time having PN from new zealand.

The B3 20 is refined, pure and complex, but hold for now. Dark and dense ruby in the glass. Nose is superbly perfumed, sour cherries, even more sour cranberries, earth, smoke, pepper, and a lovely bouquet of red flowers. Palate is medium-bodied, fine but firm tannic multi-dimensional structure, excellently concentrated red and blue fruit with a distinct sour touch, high acidity, v fresh, lively and juicy without lacking precision. Long, vibrant and spicy finish. Best red FR to date in my book

Stuffing and structure, fine tannins. plenty of dark fruited concentration. Drunk way too early. Will be a very good Block 3. A food wine not a solo drinker. Revisit with duck in an orange glaze in 5 years time.

The (Temporary) Return of the Golden Weather: Autumn 2021 Visit to Central Otago: Quick barrel tasting, small sample. Lacking the aromatic fireworks of the 2019 Block 3 but still showing nice, clean – largely red – fruit and nascent rose florals. Minerals and some tilled soil. Similar on palate. Complex, layered and savoury. Fine tannins and bright acidity. Earthy, again it makes me think of Burgundies from say Morey-St-Denis or Nuits-St-Georges.
