Anton’s Wine Tasting Notes Winery: Chateau d’Esclans “The Pale” Rosé by Sacha Lichine. Varietal: Unknown. mainly Mourvèdre with Grenache, Cinsault, Tibouren and other varieties. Area/Appellation: France, Provence, Vin de pays du var. Vintage: 2021 Price: $17.99 Kansas market price. Color: very pale copper. Legs: slow Nose: peach, white peach, pink grape fruit zest, Palate: peach, white peaches, pink grapefruit Finish: clean, crisp with a nice abundance of peach, white peach and pink grapefruit, Comments: A little bit better balance and acidity than the last two I reviewed. Retail $18. Varietal Composition? A bit of a Big Ass Bottle. Under screw cap. Made by the Rosé whisperer, Sacha Lichine at the Chateau d’Esclans (of Whispering Angel fame). While this is actually a Vin de Pays du Var, this has “Provence” written all over it. From its pale pink hue (hence the name), to its floral, fruity, and mineral bouquet, and lastly the fruity, rich, yet also reserved palate, this is a rosé lover’s delight. Were it not for the slightly ridiculous bottle, I would be all in on this wine. Excellent.
Very nice. Pale pink with light aromas, easily consumed with or without food. I think there are better options out there, but there is nothing wrong with this!

Solid if unassuming rosé--its crisp and refreshing, strawberry, white peach, a bit of saline and granite.

Just a hint of plastic on the nose. Fine on the palate for $15 if not all that outstanding.
