Ready to go with 30 minutes of air and it keeps improving. A very fine example of Sonoma Pinot Noir. This probably gets better for the next five to ten years. It has the stuffing to go the distance.

Opened 2 hours ahead of a Sonoma Coast pinot dinner. Poured into a Grassl Cru stem. My general impression was that this wine was right down the middle stylistically, as compared to some riper and 'fresher' counterparts. Red fruited with notable oak influence. Labeled at 13.9% but drank a little warmer than that.

Prominent earth notes on the nose. Fruit somewhat muted. On the palate, dried cherry and berry with spice and earth and mod + acidity with soft tannins on the finish. We slightly preferred the Hobbs '18 Goldrock that was tasted side-by-side. (Sarah and Claire preferred the Kistler).

Decanted for an hour before first tasting.
Just a short note today:
It’s lovely and complex. Tart red fruit, hint of aged caramel. Lively and fresh, yet savory and meaty in a way.

During a walkabout event, no detailed tasting notes. From MAG. The Kistler range was very convincing. Elegant, aromatic wines. 94+
