A sensibly proportioned and subtle wine in some ways though plenty of power and some drive. Nose almost has a toasty reduction about it yet it’s not reduction I don’t think. Slightly more bread / champagne notes in some way though not yeasty. Palate is mid weight, reasonable acidity though not sharp at all. Finish throws in a more herby / mineral element This is rather good and slightly grown up with a mischievous side angle with a leaner finish.

This wine takes you on an interesting ride. Tart and citrusy on the first glass, then the wine takes on some sort of a low fruit note if that makes any sense. I guess the acidity settled down and became more of a stone fruit driven wine with a lot mineral notes to go with it. Finally settled down and had a nice balance of acid, fruit and weight. Honestly, I feel like the weight and intensity of this wine is a little deceiving and is what stood out for me. All in all, a very pleasant drink. I think it will get even more interesting with more age on it. Along with my experience with the Platt pinot from Failla and a few others like Scherr and Ramey, this vineyard puts out some really intriguing and interesting fruit.

Nose of green apple, grapefruit, lemon, white flowers and wet stone. Really lithe on the palate, this is definitely on the lighter, fresher and more mineral driven spectrum. Good energy, tension and acidity, with plenty of limestone driven flavors, this really only lacks depth and concentration. More white burg than CA chard in its presentation. Medium length finish. Easy drinker that will go well with food, but not terribly cerebral or memorable. You won't mistake it for a Vice Versa wine from the same vineyard.
