Opened for half an hour. Nose is citrus blossom and honeysuckle. Fresh tidepools and marine layer. Easy on the palate without being the least bit boring. Wonderfully balanced. Salinity and acidity that I gravitate toward. Wine reviews can get weird; Let's not get too weird. This is just damn good. Maybe better than whatever random number I've jotted down today. Curious to see where it goes in a few years, too.

PnP. Opens with citrus, wet stones, salinity, apple, pear, honeysuckle, vanilla and floral. Citrus, apple, pear, floral, vanilla, spice and peach flavors. Good acidity with a smooth finish.

Wow. Maybe it’s the night or the day (it’s a fruit day) but I think this is extremely good. It definitely seems to be lower acid and richer than most vintages of Horseshoe or Alpine Chardonnay I have tried from Rhys - but for me the concentration and minerality and salinity is pretty mega - and the additional richness and lower acid is very similar / in keeping with the step up from a 1er Cru Chassagne or Puligny to a Grand Cru. I note that Rhys have high density planting in this vineyard. So - is this going to be their Lamy ‘Haute Densite’ ? I think it’s very, very good and want to drink it in a decade…..

Seems a little lacking in acidity. Oaky with less fruit than I remember. Remains a very nice glass of wine. Will likely improve with bottle age.
