  • Really enjoyable bottle. Gave it ~1 hour of air. Warm stone fruits, herbal notes, and perhaps some pineapple coming out over time. Actually less overt slate on the nose than I was expecting. Minerality comes through on the palate, though, alongside a very elegant juiciness. Finish is super dry with more stone fruits. Refreshing and complex. More to come with bottle age, I'm sure.

  • Opened in Hong Kong, slow-oxed for a few hours before serving blind.

This really needs some air to open up and express its Riesling character. Otherwise, you get the classic notes - zesty citrus and green apple alongside petrol and very strong acidity.

However, I couldn't find the complexity here - perhaps this needs a revisit and a bit more time. Would predict some upside, and given the praise I've heard about this producer, am keen to try some bottles where I can try enough over time to properly wrap my head around it. 91 now, but might adjust with a second bottle under more ideal conditions.

  • Bottle 1 of 6. Agree with previous taster AndreasMuc, this is a real treat. Intense and quite full for a Mosel Riesling, it still has a lightness to it, that makes way for a very intriguing personality. It has crushed flint/slate, yuzu/lemonpeel bitterness, a little toffee and mango as well. But above all it has a prominent salty sensation on the palate, that sort of knits it all together. A very delicious and in-your-face take on a dry Mosel. Love this stuff, superior winemaking. (93-95 pts).

  • Alk. 13%. (97-98)
