A powerful and well balanced Cab with very noticeable New World characteristic. Strong tannins and alcohol level, creamy and jammy to the taste. Goes very well with the Korean BBQ.

Such an interesting texture, with a syrup-like concentrated mouthfeel. Very full-bodied, with an evolving nose which brought out floral notes after 45 minutes.
The label is stunning as well, with artwork by Spanish artist Sergio Albiac. He works with computer codes and programming to create unique pieces of art. Just like his style, the Wappos and Native Americans blended art, science and nature throughout their lives as a means of both survival and pleasure. Similarly, winemakers too did the same thing - It’s a combination of art, science and natural components, thus these are incorporated into the label.
A computer algorithm deriving data from the vintage produces these abstract images on the label, and what is super cool.. Each label is unique for each and every bottle of wine. Yes, over 4,800 labels in all!
Just like its label, the name Moonracer is equally intriguing - The estate is situated on the southeast flank of Wappo Hill, and the name Moonracer, Realm’s first Estate wine sprung up as a result of research they did into the customs of the Wappo Native Americans who first inhabited this area.
From the writings of Jack London, the Realm team learned that area tribes would often compete in various sporting events, including “moon races,” which were long foot races conducted during the light of the full moon. In one such race, it is said the competitors could see the moon at seven different points through the peaks of the Mayacamas Mountains to the west.
Blend of 85% Cab, 6% Cab Franc, 6% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot. Exclusively from Realm’s Stags Leap estate.
Deep garnet with tinges of purple, is this an Australian or American wine? We kept guessing... Most of us thought, perhaps a very high quality Napa? When unveiled... I was so excited to try my first Realm!
Nose of blackberries and floral aromas. Mouthfeel is full-bodied and very rich, with such fine tannins. The grippy nature of the tannins indicate to me this is a wine to cellar for 10-20 years, but has a first drinking window at present too.
Palate of dark fruits, and hint of flowers. Some chocolate on the finish which has a mineral-driven undertone and long 40-50 second length.
A stunning Stags Leap District Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon! Privileged to have tasted this LF's birthday dinner in Maillard Grill, thanks JY bro for spoiling us. Only 4,800 plus bottles produced each year, such a treat to have this.

A very nice and solid cab blend. Sill seems to be missing and notch or two. I suspect this has more to do with the vintage. in my mind 2017 has never made the mark.

A good tasting and well balance cab. We drank this right after Realm Absurd and Bevan. The Moonracer stood up pretty well against the two before it. This is another full-bodied and well structured wine.

Beautifully smooth, plenty of red and black fruit, long finish. Was very similar to a 2019 Schrader LPV that we were drinking at the same time.
