PnP. Color is deep ruby/purple. On the nose: Blackberries, red berries, plum. Cinnamon, vanilla and a bit of sour funk at the end. On the palate: Red berries first, blackberries, plum and vanilla. Quite long finish. Flavor profile a bit narrow but it’s tasty. Lacks some of the darker fruit bass notes of some of the better Ridge Zinfandels but it’s a solid wine.

Never a fan of this Ridge cuvée, I drink these early to allow the other bottlings to slumber. But somehow, I over looked this little guy back in a bin. The age has in fact improved the wine. Plump but without baby fat; with notes of brown sugar (a true surprise given the age), rhubarb, boysenberry, Zin goodness in a brambly way, cinnamon, and a coffee finish. Deep coloring in the glass, but not entirely opaque. As time passes, an element of black pepper also develops on the finish. No sediment. 14.6% alc. A blend of 98% Zin. and 2% Petite Sirah. With leftover pork barbeque from a local purveryor. 07.03.23. Recommended

Ruby color; nose of dark berries and dill; medium body; restrained fruit. Ok but not all that special. I’ve had other Ridge Zins that aged better than this 6 year old.
