  • Nice drinkable food friendly zin! Medium to lightish body in the glass. Good nose, with red and blue fruits, fresh herbs with hint of pepper. On the palate bright red fruits cherry, raspberry dominate with a hint of deeper darker fruit in the finish. Fresh finish, food friendly with good acid balance. Overall, pleasant enough but bit one dimensional and limited in scope. Drink soon, as I can’t see this getting better

  • Medium garnet with a decent amount of bricking. A lot of coarse sediment was thrown during aging. Upon opening, there was a burst of aromas, that quickly settled down. Nose of cranberries, pomegranate, leather, thyme, and basil. As it decanted it became fruity and very floral with roses and violets. Medium-light bodied, high acidity, well integrated silky tannins. Palate of tart cherries, pomegranate, and strawberries. Smooth yet very structured. Vanilla, thyme, and dill on the mid palate. The 15.2% alcohol provides a bit of an alcohol bite on the finish. Long and smooth licorice and tart fruit finish that veers a bit to the green side at the end.

Needs about 30-45 minutes to wake up, but once it does you have a lovely soft and flavorful wine that aged gracefully.

  • Clear deep garnet with some rim browning. Pomegranate, fig, leather. Low acids, very low tannins. Prune. Short balanced finish.

  • Served with grilled pork chops, baked squash, fresh rolls.
Wine pulled from cellar only 1 1/2 hours before serving, a bit cool as poured.
Ruby/garnet, no longer opaque, good color to the rim.
Initial nose was cherry (dark cherry at that) - lovely and got better as the wine warmed a bit.
Drinking nicely, good finish. As the wine warmed a bit, dark fruit (particularly cherry) blossomed, with a background touch of tobacco and perhaps earthiness. Too bad this was our last bottle.
