Lightly perfumed nose, this is a lighter bodied Bordeaux blend. Hints of loam, green pepper and cedar wood. Smooth, somewhat truncated, finish. A nice drink. I see no potential for future aging with its lightly fruited body.

Double decanted 90 minutes before service. Medium red. Initial notes were very tart and seemed flawed. More air was necessary to bring on flavors of blackberry, but also with the green bell pepper notes that typically comes from Cab Franc. My sense is that this is in a weird phase right now and it needs a few more years.
59% Merlot, 39% Cab Franc, 1% Malbec, 1% Petit Verdot.

Friday Group Brown Bag Tasting (EBCC): Double blind. Notes of dark fruit, Indian spices and herbs. Chocolate, tapenade and dark fruit flavors. Becomes more red-fruited as it opens but retains a nice herbal overtone. Young, but quite tasty already- my WOTF. (J&J)

Softer more elegant blend from SVV. It could go with many dishes.

Nicely balanced with Cab Franc nose. Definitely decant. I had some the next day and it was much better.
