Community Tasting Notes (3) Avg Score: 89.7 points

  • Ripe strawberries along with tart raspberries and red currants. A slight bitter note (over extraction?) is a not unpleasant counter to some of the sweet ripeness.
Tasted on opening and then put in decanter and drunk over about 6hrs. Aggressive sharp acidity when opened, was at its best at the end as the acidity had softened and the body seemed to round out.
I had been going to score it a couple of points lower on initial impression so I'm glad I gave it the time to open up. Suggests more years in the cellar would be a benefit, though good now as long as you give it time.

  • "The bouquet offers sweet raspberries and ripe cherry, further lifted with a complex array of black pepper, violets and liquorice. At the heart of this wine is a soft plump cherry fruit core and soft mouth coating tannins"

Strong pepper taste... soft red berries

    Ann: tastes like cherry ripe

  • Off a single site in Marananga, this is a ripe, rich, full-flavoured rendition of Grenache. It has ripe berry and plum fruits and relatively gentle acidity.
