Happy birthday Riesling (Justin's, Logan Square, Chicago IL): The nose is upfront and playful with peaches, green apples, kumquats, vanilla, pears, apple blossoms, candied apples, and some nectarines. While the tones are forward and friendly, it lacks depth as they sit more on the surface. The Medium bodied feel shows some flesh with tart, medium+ acidity. This is a fun change of pace and good Riesling to try, but it just lacks in the depth department and I don't see it gaining too much with any more age.

It underwhelmed me a bit as other cuvees I've tasted were a lot better. Because of the ABV I was expecting drier, but it was closer to off-dry. Day 1 of opening was very bitter, second day was a lot better: greenish gold, think on palate, minty, honey, sweet citrus. I honestly think I mistreated it in terms of decanting and letting it rest after shipping but still not my fave of his.

Floral aromatics, green apple, honey, and citrus flavors, and a nice acid spine. Good stuff.

Green apple, pear preserves. A bit on the sweeter side - could use more acidity to balance it out. But a good riesling none the less.

Lovely crisp Riesling. Very perfumed nose, with lemon meringue pie and a little bit soapy. Apple flavours and a bracing acidity.
