Wow. Pale gold color. Nose of hazelnuts and almonds and creme brulee. The wine was a bit thin on the palate, not much glycerine. The finish was spicy and wonderful and went on forever.

According to the makers of this wine you are not supposed to decant Tondonia but let it open up in the (Burgundy) glass. I tried that for the first hour but nothing really happened so I decanted it and it improved. This is a very light wine, not a style I like much. It is well made and refined and after 2 hours does have a haunting raspberry aroma that is elusive but impressive, a hint of mocha too but only a hint. Raspberries are there in the flavour too but this not only tastes light (refined) it tastes dilute (watery) and with a bit of volatile acidity shwing on the finish. I wanted to like this more but in the end was rather underwhelmed. Still with enough fruit to last but I doubt it will improve with more keeping.
