Heater week; 3/8/2024-3/17/2024 (Chicago, IL): Too structural and foursquare, with again a distinct funky note that I don't care for. Like most of the preceding six or seven vintages, this is missing the lift (isn't this cofermented with viognier, after all?) and you just get leathery structure most of the time.

Definitely a MF wine! Relish every time/chance I get the chance to try a Cayuse/Horsepower wine. Very nice! Liked it very much! Detail notes may yet follow...
Double decanted (sat in decanter for 2 hours) Tasted blind at a weekly gathering with a Walla Walla vs Rhone theme. Most guessed new world. Rocks district funk was there but in moderate amounts. Well made wine that is very drinkable now but can hold for several more years.

This is really hitting it’s stride. Black and blue berry fruit, earth, olive, a bit of leather and all sorts of goodness.
