This is outstanding - really tasty American syrah. Good varietal typicity without too much funk to overwhelm casual fans (I'm looking sideways at you, Cayuse) - dark raspberry, chocolate, some savory/farm nose. I will go looking for more.

An intoxicating nose of dark fruit (and lots of it), forest floor, pine needles, cinnamon bark... and lingering above all, a trace of a high toned (acetone like) phenolic. The color is dark, dark, dark purple.
Beautiful integration of fruit and tannin, the fruit sweet and multi-layered, the tannins soft but still providing a tart finish that beckons yet another taste. And those tastes are rewarded with an incredibly long finish.
Opened 3+ hours before drinking. In a prime drinking window, but clearly a wine that will continue to evolve over many years.
Rated +3 on a scale of -1 to +3.
