Bright floral and red fruits with some toasty star anise, leather and black licorice on the nose. Good richness and and fresh acidity on the palate but it is simple and not much depth. Some bite of power and hint of austere edges, showing that it still requires more aging. Texture is reasonably smooth till the medium-bodied mid-palate. Transition to finish is rather short on a bed of chalk tannins. This is not the elegant and polished Pinot you get from a fine Burgundy and some of the Pinots from Russian Valley probably have better and seamless texture and finish. Drink this now if you decant for an hour, otherwise drink this in a few yrs time.

Modest cherry nose. Full bodied, well balanced Pinot with lots of cherry and acid. Wonderful.
