Not very impressed. Had higher hopes for this. I've been a fan of Suduri pinots for several years now. When I saw that they had a Yamhill-Carlton, I was psyched. After drinking, not so. It is very cool, menthol, bright cherry and tart, but it is not balanced. It is linear with no depth or structure. Not enough fruit. I don't think age will help, but I'll be an optimist because I have 2 bottles left. FYI, wasn't better the second day either.

Deep, hedonistic nose of sweet cherry, cola, ink, cassis, kirsch and rose. The body is a full bodied with smooth and plush tannin and bright acidity, everything appears in good balance (that will improve with time). Flavors are tarter than the nose, delivering cherry, cranberry, huckleberry, wet pavement, pastel florals and a small dose of wet soil.

Busted bottle, salvaged a glass and a half. Dark garnet, good legs, lighter body than the opacity suggests. Its straight up cola and black cherries, touch of pastry, kissed with vanilla/oak. Same on the palate. Mouthfeel is even lighter than the legs would suggest, kinda refreshing, bright and light. Medium acidity and medium finish. Almost seems disjointed with the weight versus the fruit and nose. Not gonna say watery yet it makes me think that.

The first taste is fruity and somewhat acidic, not well balanced. The finish is more mellow. Okay, but nothing special.

Nice fruit. Cherry and some spice. Not a lot of depth. OK but not remarkable.
